2021 Prayer Guide
What does it take to reach every people and nation with the Gospel?
It takes compassion.
It takes persistence.
But most of all, it takes prayer.
Roughly 17,000 indigenous people groups exist in the world, each with their own language, culture, and religion. Many reside in areas that Western missionaries can’t access. To reach them, only one option remains: equip local churches to evangelize them.
As the Global Church Developer, that’s what we do. As an ICM supporter, that’s what you do. And those efforts are helping indigenous churches to flourish among people groups all over the world.
This calendar highlights some of those groups. Please take time each month to pray for them as our work continues. Your prayers can remove the obstacles to all nations hearing the Good News. Share
All Scripture references come from the New Living Translation (NLT).
People Groups Within Reach
Europe’s largest minority, the Romani migrated from India’s Rajasthan region about 1,500 years ago and spread across Europe and Asia. Also called “gypsies” or “Roma,” the Romani can be found in nearly every country of the world today. They marry young and live in close, family-centered communities, often on the outskirts of society. Because they are stateless, migratory people, the Romani often suffer severe poverty, discrimination, and violence.
The Romani have no single faith practice and usually adopt the dominant religion of their host country. Most of Europe’s Romani are Catholic. An ICM partner in Bulgaria is ministering to them through evangelical churches, Hope Centers, and ICM’s discipleship program. Share
Journal Prompt of the month
Jesus is our Prince of Peace. Reflect on a time in your life when you experienced “the peace that passes all understanding” (Philippians 4:7). How did that experience shape your faith? How can you share that peace with others?
